The 6900 XT is a strong competitor for the most excellent AMD graphics card title. However, for use, the added expense is not justified by the performance. The less expensive card provides sufficient performance for most situations, similar to the 3080 vs. 3090.
However, the 6900 XT is an excellent choice if you are searching for a less expensive premium option. It provides the extra punch that some users may be searching for, thanks to the additional hardware over the 6800 XT. It does offer that small gain with a few additional cores, especially in 4K scenarios.
